Privacy

PinPast has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. There is no sign-up, no email field, and no profile. This page describes the little that does happen.

What is stored on your device

Your results are kept in your browser's local storage under a single key, pinpast.history.v1. It holds which dailies you have played, your scores and your streak — nothing that identifies you. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us, which is also why your progress does not follow you from one device to another.

Clearing your browser's site data for this domain deletes it permanently. There is no copy on our side to restore it from.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people play and which pages they reach. It sets cookies in your browser and reports page views, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information to Google, who process it on our behalf. We use it to decide what to build next — not to identify individuals, and we do not attempt to link it to anything else.

You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, with any tracker blocker, or by blocking cookies for this site. The game works exactly the same either way.

Third parties your browser contacts

Cloudflare
Serves and protects the site. Like any web host it keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
CARTO
Supplies the map tiles. When a map loads, your browser requests images directly from CARTO, so they receive that request the same way any image host would.
Google
Analytics, as described above. Fonts are self-hosted, so no request is made to Google Fonts.

What we do not do

Children

PinPast is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them — and since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing held either way.

Changes

If this changes materially — an account system, a leaderboard, anything that means data leaves your device — this page will be updated before the change ships.

Contact

Questions about any of this, or about data we hold: [email protected]. Since there are no accounts, there is generally nothing on our side to access or delete — but if you think otherwise, write and we will look.
